I was fortunate enough to be in Italy at the time of his passing. My father, uncle and I flew to Italy on Friday the 4th and arrived on the Island of Ischia on Saturday night. When we arrived my grandfather still had his eyes open and we were able to talk to him one last time. He suffered a major stroke that left him paralyzed on the right side of his body so he was unable to respond. Until his last breath he was a true leader and still had a commanding presence. I will miss him very much and I know that one day I will see him again.

This is the way I remember my grandfather. He was a lifelong commercial fisherman with a great love for the sea. | ![]() |
